NextRewind

Next Rewind is a men's lifestyle editorial covering the gear, garments, watches, audio, cars, tech, drink, and small objects of the present — through one specific lens: what here will be worth rewinding to?

It's the inverse of a trend report. Most lifestyle media chases what's hot now. Next Rewind makes the curatorial bet on which current things will earn a second look in five or ten years. The thing future-you will wish you'd bought. The shoe, the jacket, the watch, the record player that ages into itself.

How we choose what to cover

Three filters. First, the object has to be available now — we are a recommendation site, not an auction house. Second, it has to be likely to look correct in 2030 — that's the bet that makes the whole site coherent. Third, the price has to be justified by what the object is, not by what it's being marketed as.

We will recommend a $67 sneaker and a $4,800 watch in the same issue, and we are comfortable with that. The price tier is not the test. The test is whether the object is the version someone in 2030 will point to as having been right the whole time.

What we don't do

No urgency language. No countdown timers. No "limited time" or "act now." If the object is correct, it will still be correct next week. If it isn't, no countdown is going to fix that.

No paid placements presented as editorial. When something on Next Rewind pays us, it pays us through an affiliate link, disclosed on every post and explained in full on the affiliate disclosure page. What we cover is not a function of what pays best.

Who writes it

The masthead lists every contributor. Some write under pen names. Editorial decisions sit with the editor; product picks are discussed by the full desk before they run.
